BetRivers released the details on its very first big online poker series aptly named the Multi-State Summer Series (MSS). The 72-event series kicks-off Friday, Aug. 1.
The 10-day series celebrates the fact that the online poker site spreads games for players in four states — Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware and Michigan. The site brought the players in these states under the same digital rooftop June 10, after Pennsylvania joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Act in April.
A total of 72 events will be held on two different tiers — Silver and Gold. They both take place at the same time, always at 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. with a 4 p.m. and midnight events sprinkled in here and there. The Silver tiers events cost a 10th of what the Gold events cost. For example, the “opener” is $50 on the Gold level and carries a $5,000 is paired with a $5 Silver version with a $1,000 promise.
Each tier will have a leaderboard, and the site will distribute $5,000 in bonus prizes to those who climb to the top.
The site is guaranteeing $200,000 in prizes. The $200 Multi-State Main Event carries a $30,000 guarantee and takes place the last day of the series, Aug. 10. It’s paired with a $20 Silver Main Event that has a $6,000 guarantee. Buy-ins for the entire series range from $1 to the $250 high roller event ($10,000 guarantee) on Aug. 7.
And even though the buy-ins to this series are on the low side, BetRivers will offer satellites to many of the events. For more information and to view the entire schedule of the events, either download the client or click here.
BetRivers is working hard to promote its site. It hired Phil Hellmuth, one of the most popular poker stars, to promote its brand at the World Series of Poker and beyond, and has started using Phil Galfond, whose company Run it Once, developed the software that runs BetRivers. Rush Street Interactive bought Galfonds’ company in 2022.
Galfond recently streamed his play live, on his YouTube channel.
