Jackpot!
A guest of Resorts World Las Vegas hit it big by turning a $105 bet into $1.2 million by hitting three royal flushes on a video poker machine Monday.
According to the casino, the unnamed patron from California was playing a $5 Double Super Times Pay Poker machine. Lucky for them, the hand was boosted by a 20x multiplier.
The odds of hitting one royal flush on a poker machine is 40,000 to 1.
And more jackpots
Two lucky gamblers at Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel in Rochester, Washington State had a very good day on Dec. 13.
The big winner of the day was a person who turned a $10 bet into a $40,000 jackpot playing a Meltdown slot machine.
A gambler also turned a spin playing Dancing Pots into $12,892. The amount of the bet wasn’t announced by Lucky Eagle, which is located about a half-hour drive southwest of Olympia.
And in Massachusetts, someone turned spare change into a five-figure score at the Encore Boston Harbor casino playing the Casper Triple Fright slot machine.
The 66-cent bet hit a $27,887.38 jackpot. The Casper Triple Fright is one of 2,700 slot machines at the casino.
Michigan welcomes Hard Rock Online
Hard Rock Online became the eighth casino brand to enter Michigan’s online market this week. It brings a catalogue of 3,696 games, featuring slots titles from developers such as IGT and High 5, along with live dealer tables of blackjack, roulette, chuck-a-luck, and other casino table games.
New players who create an account and deposit at least $10 qualify for two launch incentives:
- $1,000 Lossback: Hard Rock refunds net slot losses from a player’s first 24 hours of gameplay, up to $1,000. The casino credits the refund as bonus funds.
- 200 Bonus Spins: Players receive immediate spins on the slot game Huff N’ More Puff.
Last month, a player hit a $22.4 million jackpot with a 22-cent bet on a Huff N’ More Puff slot playing on DraftKings.
NY Gaming Commission awards licenses
On Monday, the New York State Gaming Commission made it official and voted to award casino licenses to three companies who have been batting for years for the privilege to tap the New York City market.
The NYGC awarded 15-year licenses to both Resorts World and Bally’s, while Metropolitan Park received a 20-year license. The years were based on the total financial commitment each project has already made.
Steve Cohen, the billionaire owner of the New York Mets, is the force behind Metropolitan Park. Of course, he’s more thrilled than a mongoose in a hen house.
“Since the day I bought the team, the community and Mets fans have made it clear to me that we can and should do better with the area around the ballpark,” Cohen said in a statement, laying it on thick. “Now, we are going to be able to deliver the sports and entertainment district that our fans have been asking for.”
