The 18 event World Series of Poker Circuit series that kicked-off the 2025-26 season at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma is in the books. Thousands of players generated more than $3.4 million through the whole series, with $1.4 million of that from the $1,700 Main Event, which had a $1 million guarantee.
That means the headliner attracted 968 entrants from players mostly from Texas and Oklahoma, and it was Midland, Texas resident Alex Cruz who topped them all for a career-best $241,412 and his first WSOP Circuit ring.
This may be Cruz’s first WSOP ring, but he has a few trophies in his case, including one from a Mid-Stakes Poker Tour Main Event in Black Hawk. Colo. where he earned in 2023 ($101,000). He added another Main Event title to his collection in 2024 at the Deadwood Shootout ($100,080).
He’s inching towards the $1 million mark in lifetime tournament earnings. The top 141 earned at least $3,439.

Other highlights from Oklahoma
Rodney Spriggs, who won the 2009 Oklahoma State Championship of Poker, secured his fourth WSOP Circuit ring during this series in the $300 Double Stack event for $21,059.
The 2020 Choctaw WSOP Circuit Main Event Champion Dustin Schoonover collected his second Circuit ring by winning Event #11, a $300 No-Limit Hold’em contest for $13,121. It’s his third overall win, according to the Hendon Mob, yet he’s approaching a half-milly in tournament cashes.
And Jarrod Yandrisovitz made his sixth Hendon Mob poker result a good one by winning the $300 Gargantuan event for a career-best $91,698, which was the second-largest prize of the Series.
The Pflugerville, Texas native had to outlast 3,062 entrants for his first WSOP Circuit ring.
Like all other WSOP Circuit winners at Choctaw, Yandrisovitz also received a $5,000 package to attend WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas, which includes a $2,500 buy-in to the WSOP Circuit Championing Mystery Bounty event, as well as a hotel package at the host casino, Atlantis Bahamas.
