The Lilac Club Casino’s poker room in New Hampshire is hosting a very special guest this weekend — Phil Hellmuth.

Hellmuth will be at the Rochester casino starting Friday, Aug. 15, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a meet-and-greet and book signing. The first 75 people there will receive a free copy of his book, “Poker Brat.” The book won’t be available to buy.

The next day at 10 a.m. will be the “Beat the Champ” tourney, a $1,200 buy-in $100,000 guaranteed event. Hellmuth carries a $500 bounty. For the past few weeks, the casino has been feeding the event through a promotion that gave the top five players of each week who log the most rated hours in the Poker Room entries.

The casino also held a few $250 satellites, and has about a hundred seats available for the $1,200 buy-in. Players can pony up the cash and buy-in for the event starting Friday.

On Sunday, Aug. 17, from 1-3 p.m. Hellmuth will play in a cash game. Seats are available to those who showed up first.

“This isn’t just another tournament, it’s a shot at poker history,” said Eric Barbaro, chief operating officer of Granite State Gaming and Hospitality. “Phil Hellmuth isn’t just a champion, he’s a legend, and top tournament players will walk away with a share of $100,000 cash.”

The Lilac Club Casino poker room is open daily and hosts year-round tournaments.
