Another poker room for Chicago

Bally’s released artist-rendered images off the interior of its soon-to-be- completed Chicago Casino, and it includes a poker room.

Bally’s, which just scored a huge win by securing one of three New York City gambling licenses, currently operates a temporary casino inside the city’s Medinah Temple. My law, it must open its permeant casino by September.

The temporary casino does not have a poker room. The new one will.

The $1.7 billion development will also have 3,400 slot machines, a 500-room hotel, a rooftop pool and bar, restaurants, a 3,000-seat theater, and a public park with a riverwalk extension.

According to Yogonet. “Since September 2023, it has generated about $270 million in adjusted revenue, including $41 million in state tax revenue and $33.6 million directed to police and firefighter pensions.”

Construction was halted for two weeks this fall after the state got wind that a mob-connected company was involved with construction. The investigation is ongoing.

Poker returns to Green Valley Ranch

Henderson, a suburb of in Las Vegas, is getting back a poker room option as the Green Valley Ranch casino is reopening its poker room on Dec. 18, at 11 a.m.. The room was one of many in Las Vegas and around the world that was closed during the COVID-19 debacle.

The project is part of a $200 million resort-wide renovation that includes updates to its West Town Rooms, its high-limit slot and table games room, the Polaris casino bar, as well as updates to its Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill. Green Valley Ranch is also renovating its Regal Theaters and has plans for a Nielsen’s Frozen Custard joint for the Henderson property.

The poker room will feature 15 tables that will operate 24 hours a day with dealers spreading $4/8 and $8/16 limit hold’em, $1/2, $2/3 and $3/5 no limit hold’em, Time Rake Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo at $4/8, $6/12 and $8/16.

To celebrate its relaunch, the room is running a Mystery High Hand promotion from Dec. 18 to the end of the year. Prizes ranging from $50 to $500 to be won every 30 minutes. All winners will get an entry into a $5,000 drawing that’s scheduled for New Years Day.
