Series coming to Mohegan Sun

Mohegan Sun in Connecticut will hold its annual Fall Showdown Poker Tournament starting Nov. 19 and running to Nov. 22. The $600 buy-in event has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players start the event with 30,000 chips, but can purchase another 5,000 for a mere $10. There will be three starting days on Nov. 19. 20, and 21. The top 12% of each field will make it to the final day and are guaranteed a min-cash.

Players can re-enter as many times as they want until level 9.

Players can get into the event through one of its $155 satellites that are held on Mondays and Wednesdays in November.

Most haunted casino

In the spirit of Halloween, vegasinsider.com named the country’s most haunted casinos. The spookiest? Golden West Casino in Bakersfield, California.

The site created a scoring system to come up with its list using things likes local folklore, terrible Google ratings (the lower, the more haunted), ghost sighting per city, murder crime rate, and mentions of words like “haunted,” “ghost,” “spooky,” or “scary” in Google reviews.

Bakersfield topped the list in ghost sightings per city with 85, and sits second in the murder rate category.

From vegasinsider.com: “Bakersfield tops the haunted leaderboard thanks to its unusually high number of ghost sightings city-wide and one of the steepest local crime grades in the dataset. Even without any haunted reviews, the Golden West Casino’s surroundings alone push it to the top spot.”

Rounding out the top five were DK’s Casino in Williston, North Dakota, Hard Rock Casino in Rockford, Illinois, Okmulgee One Fire Casino in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Diamond’s Casino in Reno, Nevada.
